In early 1998, we reached our goal of a $1,000,000.00 endowment as a permanent commitment to scholarships for outstanding Houston area high school graduates who attend UT-the first Texas Exes Chapter to have a $1,000,000 endowment. AS OF 2020, OUR HOUSTON CHAPTER ENDOWMENTS TOTAL OVER $3 MILLION.

In 2002-2003, the Houston Texas Exes pledged $115,000.00 to the Jamail Challenge Grant and funded that commitment. The Jamail fund matched the pledged amount, for a total of $230,000. This scholarship has been awarded since 2005.
